The Taizé Community, in Taizé, France, is an international, ecumenical Christian contemplative community engaged in peacemaking and solidarity with the oppressed. It began in 1940 as a place of refuge for refugees during World War II, founded by Brother Roger. Thousands of visitors make pilgrimage to Taizé every year in search of communion with God through community prayer, song, silence, personal reflection and sharing. https://www.taize.fr/en

Taizé Prayer services have spread throughout the world, following their simple pattern of worshipful, contemplative chant songs, intercessory prayer, short Bible passages, and silent meditation.

Our Candlelight Taizé Prayer service on June 7 will welcome community members traveling in for our Appreciative Inquiry Summit, and help us prepare for the community discernment process the following day. It is also an opportunity to reach outward to our ecumenical community of neighbors, whom we welcome to come and pray together with us. All are welcome, all are invited!
