VIRTUAL CHAPEL

“In the shadow of your wings I take refuge,

until the destruction is past.”

~ Psalm 57:1

A Message to Our Community Members

In light of the COVID-19 health crisis, we are clearly in an unprecedented time in our lives. However, there are lovely, beautiful, and even unexpected opportunities that can arise from this time of isolation and social distancing. Among them is an opportunity for people to connect “virtually” through online forums.

With the help of our Bishop’s Committee, Administrator, and volunteers we have been working diligently this week to help community members get connected online through Zoom technology. To that end, we are now prepared to offer a series of online forums to help you all stay connected to one another. Each of our offerings is described below. All are free and open to the public.

While our retreat house remains closed to the public at this time, we are the church and will continue to be church with and for one another throughout this difficult time. Let us remember we are sheltered in the loving Shadow of God’s wings.

Racial Justice Forum

With growing awareness and acknowledgment of the toll that racial inequity has taken in the United States and widening global support for the Black Lives Matter movement, it feels like a turning point has been reached. Even in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, cities and towns across the U.S. and throughout the world have been filled with protesters demanding justice for people of color and an end to 400 years of entrenched, systemic racism. Many people are asking, What Can We Do? How Can I Help? Where do I start?

Please join Deacon Ari Wolfe for a 3-week Racial Justice Forum, utilizing educator Dr. Eddie Moore, Jr.'s
