Peregrinatio Sundays
Sunday, May 31
Join us for a picnic and light hike on the earthquake trail at the bear valley visitor center. Meet at the trailhead at 1Pm (following Coffee Hour). Pack a picnic lunch to enjoy after our
0.6-mile loop on the Earthquake Trail.
The Earthquake Trailhead is at the northeast corner of the Trailhead and Picnic Area parking area at Bear Valley in Point Reyes National Seashore. Look for trailhead signs to the north (e.g., left if standing in the parking lot) of the picnic area's restroom building.
The ancient Celtic Christian form of pilgrimage, known as Pereginatio, was understood as a kind of "wandering for God,” without specifying a destination. Borrowing from this concept, every 5th Sunday of the month, members of St. Columba’s organize peregrinatios to various locations for the purpose of socializing, community building, and just having fun. These may include, hikes, picnics, visits to one another’s homes for BBQ’s or outings of all kinds. We will organize and announce upcoming Peregrinatio Sundays as they approach. All are welcome!
