“The one who sits in solitude and quiet has escaped from three wars: hearing, speaking, and seeing;
yet against one thing shall he continually battle: that is, his own heart.”
~ St. Anthony of the Desert
In the Spring of 2019, Fr. Vincent Pizzuto, PhD, will continue his series of workshops on the method, theology, and practice of Christian contemplative prayer. Each workshop meets weekly for two hours over the course of five consecutive weeks and explores contemplative Christianity through spiritual reading, journaling, shared contemplative practice, instruction, and group conversation.
Contemplative Christian Practice IV:
This fourth series of workshops by Father Vincent PIzzuto, Ph.D. will focus on contemplation-in-action. The workshop looks beyond the pragmatics of social activism toward a contemplative discipleship that leads to a radical transformation of the human heart. In particular, we will explore the urgent question,"How does Christian contemplative practice ground climate advocacy?"
“For those who look with their physical eyes, God is nowhere to be seen.
For those who contemplate God in spirit, he is everywhere.
God is in all, yet beyond all.”
~ St. Symeon
