BREAKING BOUNDARIES

THE SCIENCE OF OUR PLANET

Join us for an online discussion on Tuesday, July 26 from 4-6pm PDT

"Breaking Boundaries" is the second film in the series that the Council for Ecological Discipleship (CED) is encouraging all to watch and participate in a debriefing and discussion of the film on Zoom, July 26, 2022 from 4-6pm Pacific. The film is available on Netflix.

"Breaking Boundaries" explores nine planetary boundaries that provide stability to the Earth’s dynamic systems. There are nine planetary boundaries that keep Earth stable. These include climate change, biosphere integrity (functional

and generic), land-system change, freshwater use, biogeochemical flows (nitrogen and phosphorus), ocean acidification, atmospheric aerosol pollution, stratospheric ozone depletion, and the release of novel chemicals.

"Breaking Boundaries" looks at how humanity is pushing our planet beyond these nine boundaries, which have kept the Earth stable for 10,000 years. This is a 75-minute film that tells a story of discovery, looking at the planetary thresholds we must not exceed. The film offers solutions we can put in place today, to protect Earth’s life support system.
